Position opening: Senior Python DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

Cirrus Identity is an innovative software as a service company providing identity and single sign on solutions to the Higher Education and Research communities. We serve over 100 universities and research organizations and we are growing fast.

This remote position will help us improve our products and processes to handle the next 10x increase in traffic. It will involve working in AWS, developing tools and RESTful APIs in Python, leading infrastructure improvement initiatives, collaborating with the rest of our small team and performing on-call duties.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with Kubernetes
  • Aiding with automation
  • Working with other engineers and the customer success team
  • Building tools and RESTful APIs in Python
  • Implementing infrastructure as code
  • Supporting compliance initiatives
  • Load Testing
  • Improving observability and monitoring
  • Being available to perform your regular job duties after hours as part of our weekly on-call rotation. 
  • Identifying, scoping, executing and delivering on infrastructure improvements
  • Aiding with troubleshooting and problem-solving when issues arise
  • Maintaining the reliability and security of our environments
  • Being part of a great team

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with unit testing.
  • Experience creating RESTful APIs
  • Working with a variety of AWS technologies
  • Contributing to team development projects, using git, submitting pull requests and performing code reviews
  • Experience with Docker and containers
